Requesting access to private forum

Hello,

I am requesting access to the private forum.  I am mid-40's, married, in the Northeast US.  I have read "Sexual Utopia in Power" and am also a big fan of Amneus' book "The Garbage Generation".  I am interested in possibly meeting up with any members who may be in my geographic region.

I followed a link in the comments from some other blog, I wish I could remember which one.  There's such a bewildering variety of men's blogs, and they all have good points to make, but CoAlpha IMO has the best idea of a long-range solution to the problem of feminism.  I think one part of the solution involves men taking responsibility in their long-term, but non-sexual relationships with women-- i.e. their daughters, sisters, and so on.  Men need to take at least partial responsibility for the sexual behavior of these women, rather than just leaving everything to their individual choices.  In other words, we need to return to an older system of honor whereby if a man wishes to date or marry a woman, he needs to get permission from her father, brother, or other male guardian.

Also, I think the CoAlpha concept is an excellent one which has hardly been mentioned by other blogs.  Namely, a woman will respect a man, even if he has beta tendencies, if she sees that he is part of a TEAM-- so it is critical for us to band together and work out agreements.

I'm requesting access to the private forum because that seems to be the most active part.

TBH, I skeptical about what kind of "brotherhood" can successfully form in the sprawling modern world. The Amish and Hasidic examples are interesting but obviously tough to replicate from scratch. It would be interesting to kick around a few ideas.

It seems to me we need a replacement for religion. Religion still does a good job of enforcing culture but almost all intelligent modern teenagers ditch it on logical grounds  (as I and probably most of you did) while largely ignoring its practical use. Women mainly follow the cultural trend, e.g. it became cool to mock religion. The group continually loses its most talented members. I believe even the Hasidic Jews have this problem.

BTW, does anyone have a link to "A Life Apart" video?

I'm not sure I'd agree that "the group", i.e. restrictive groups like Hasidics are losing their most talented members. The group as whole is growing much faster than it's losing members. So whatever members are lost, consist of a small percentage. I will agree that these groups are dysfunctional at some levels. This likely does result in some members having their natural talents being retarded when it doesn't suit the group.

I also agree with this, but rather than "a replacement for religion" one might consider a more logical religion.  I actually discussed this very issue with my local Chabad (Hasidic) rabbi today.  I told him that Judaism is losing the smartest Jews because of their difficulty in accepting Hasidic belief.  Unfortunately, he didn't seem terribly concerned about this.

I was trying to look up information on prominent Hasidics to see if they've been able to hang onto their elite but turned up nothing. I do know that smart Jews, like Feynman (though he didn't come from a religious family), have had fun mocking Hasidics.

Interesting doc. Watered down but what do you expect with PBS?

It seems they rely a lot on the memory of the Holocaust to hang onto their members. I wonder what their success will be as the memory of that fades. You're right that they produce so many that even if some leave, the community seems like it must grow and at least some of the talented ones will stay.

I'd also be interested to see how they do financially now that we have the internet, etc. They were scraping by due to restrictions on higher education and what kind of jobs they could work. Now they can stay in their community and work via the web. College education is a joke now anyway and ridiculously overpriced anyway. They should also be able to relocate whole communities with less problems. With their level of commitment, unity, and a new way to conduct business that doesn't contradict their religion I expect them to boom.
