Slavery? Or something else?

Ardia
I just saw the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpYubBeRhhU (Man without children in jail for child support ). This quote got me thinking.

=====================================
This guy does not know what is talking! I speak from experience. There are stupid men and women out there. A woman can sleep with another man, get pregnant and rush back to her boyfriend? and give him the child because he is the one she wants to be with. The guy may even know that the baby is not but of a stupid sense of commitment, compassion that he is played into by the girl, he acknowledges paternity of the child. Things seem perfect when you think your joy will last forever. But men.......
==================================================

I hear similar stories. Advanced speaks of men who stay with their girlfriends, even though they know their GFs cheat etc.

Im assuming this is usually the same cause for the comment above. The man is desperate, so forgives the wayward GF.

The difference is if you stay with a GF who sleeps around, once (if) you do finally break up, that would be the end of it. OTOH if a child is involved, you will be on the hook for a decade or more.

The big question is: Should this even be allowed?

On the one hand, its libertarian. The man freely signed on as the father.

On the other hand, its a kind of slavery. To use an analogy - if you were starving and someone offered you a piece of bread if, and only if, you signed a contract to be his slave - that contract would be thrown out of court.

The video shows another ridiculous example of our legal system. There's increasingly no incentive whatsoever to do anything legal in America because the system is run by parasites. When parasites become the majority, society will collapse.
