Because I am now convinced that religion is the only answer, I will be spending most of my time at BiblicJudaism.org.  Of course I will still be here too whenever there is activity here.

I think the meaning of life is hope and the religion can give us a hope and give us some positive power. So I think no matter what kind of religion you choose as long as you can get energy from it ,then that is a good.

For me it sounds funny, I don't join any religion but our traditional culture believe god is the Buddha. So when we're in trouble or we want some good lucky turns to ourselves,we normally go to the temple.I had a 3 years experiences went to the temple to pray my  slippers  business goes well and my family's members are healthy.

I know you should take effort to  get what you wanted and go to temple is a hope.

Some of the biggest scumbags I ever came across in my life called themselves Christian. Religion is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Modern Christianity is part of the problem.  But religions can be good or bad.  Every successful culture in history was supported by a good religion.  And this seems to indicate that (good) religion will be part of the solution

Okay, we're going to have to agree to disagree. I'm of quite the opposite opinion to yourself. I think that ridding the world of organised, large-scale religions such Christianity, Islam, and Judaism would be a huge step forward for humanity. Obviously never going to happen, but i'm just saying...

The thing is that a society of atomized individuals pursuing their own momentary self-interest doesn't really work in the long term. It is not efficient can't accomplish a lot of worthwhile goals very well. A society needs a unifying common goal outside of its individual components to work towards. Apparently hunter-gatherer societies that had not had contact with agricultural/industrial civilization had a kind of mind-meld going where they thought in groups rather than as individuals and operated like the fingers of a hand. In order to get agricultural/industrial societies to operate like this and reap the benefits, religion seems to be necessary.
